Abstract:
District plan boundaries indicate the extent and location of each planning
district in the City.
Purpose: District Plans data indicates the limits of the district plan boundaries in the City of Waterloo. A District Plan is a land use policy document that is intended to guide and direct the nature of land development within a particular area. All areas of the City are planned using the District Plan approach. It is a key document link between the Official Plan and the detailed stages of development. It provides guidance and a policy framework within which to consider approvals for draft plans of subdivision, zoning, site plan, engineering and other municipal approvals. It is important to note that not every area in the City has a District Plan such that there are some areas, such as the University of Waterloo area, that will return a 'null' feature.
