Abstract: Areas of interest (outlines) are intended to be used as base data to provide context and reference on maps.
Purpose: Boundaries for locations of significant governmental, economic, cultural, or recreational importance, represented as polygons. The polygons are intended to be used as base data, and to thematically represent the areas of interest for navigational or way-finding purposes. The locations represent the consolidation of datasets representing City of Waterloo facilities and non-municipal landmarks. The polygons were primarily created using the Teranet Inc. property fabric where the area of interest was synonymous with the parcel. In cases where the fabric was not sufficient to adequately delimit the location of interest, building footprints were utilized as a substitute. The Updates and/or additions will be made as candidates are identified.
